Injury Prevention and the Management of Chronic Conditions
As part of your treatment with us we will also discuss with you ways of preventing recurrences of problems. This may include looking at your working habits, hobbies, exercise and lifestyle. If you participate in a particular sport we'll look at this too and for ways to prevent injuries. We believe this is a very important aspect of your care, and will allow you to do all the things you enjoy, confidently, without pain!
We also, from time to time, encounter conditions and problems that there is no 'cure' for. In these circumstances we will work with you to help you maximise your physical potential, whilst keeping pain and symptoms controlled. These problems include Severe Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis and Stroke. If we feel you require other Hospital services we'll also talk to GPs and Consultants to facilitate this.
Whether you're training for a marathon, struggling with muscle aches and pains after that game of football, rugby, tennis or golf or tight neck and shoulders because it's been a busy working week, sports massage can benefit you and improve your level of performance.
Sports massage helps speed up your recovery and relax, enabling you to train or perform again sooner whilst minimising your risk of injury from tight muscles. Treatment includes advice and guidance as to stretching routines which will also improve your performance.
